Musical "Super Monkey"
At last my dream is realizing.
10 years I ago, I wrote a plan and synopsis for a musical play named "Super Monkey" based on the Chinese myth "Journey to the West," which is sometimes also known as " Monkey King." What caused me to plan this was the lack of good stories for Broadway musicals. Of all the plays I saw, they were all revivals of the old@stories from the past 50 years. I thought, if Peter Pan can fly, Genie from the lantern can produce magic, and Lion King can be the main role of a musical, then why not have a Super Monkey that was born from a rock!
I took the plan and synopsis booklet to Broadway and talked with a production team. The team loved it and when we were going to go into details, fate didn't let me pass the bridge. The key person who connected everyone got married to a Dutch man and left New York. I was left suspended.
It was then I remembered my father's words. "When your dream does not realize so easily, when there are obstacles to block your way, that is when you know you are dealing with a big project.
It is not easy to realize an influential project. That is why not everyone can do it. You can put it down or fight for it. The choice is for you to make. Look for a chance, Judy. The time will come."

Yes, when you want things to get done, do it yourself.

I brought the plan and synopsis back to Tokyo and talked to as many people as possible. After seven years of perseverance, with the help of my producers,Takaya-san and Koibuchi-san, at last, my dream is going to realize.
Musical "Super Monkey" will be shown at the prestigious Nissei theatre in Tokyo this coming February 2009. This is going to be special because the story will be modified from the original myth "Journey to the West" and it will give you something to think about in life when your leave the theatre.

Please come and see musical " Super Monkey" next February!
I will participate in the play as Nyorai the Goddess and am now working on the musical as a supervisor. There are so many things to be done and so many things to be researched.
So, busier then ever are my days.
